GE Appliances to create 100 jobs at new Georgia distribution center GE Appliances is bolstering its presence in Georgia with a $55 million investment in a new Southeast Region Appliance Distribution Center. Gov. Nathan Deal announced Thursday that the household appliances manufacturer will create 100 jobs at a new warehouse in Jackson County's Commerce, with construction expected to be completed by April 2019. Louisville-based GE Appliances, owned by Chinese conglomerate Haier, already has a strong presence in Georgia. The company employs 1,960 workers at Roper Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary in LaFayette, and 50 employees supporting its Factory Service Operations based out of Atlanta.
